I recently came across several great quotes and couldn't stop at posting just one! Take a few minutes and read each one. You'll thank me, I promise!
"Say what you want and be who you are because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
- Mahatma Gandhi
"Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself." - Eleanor Roosevelt
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
- Eleanor Roosevelt
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." - Winston Churchill
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." - Albert Einstein
"The past is a ghost, the future a dream, and all we ever have is now." - Bill Cosby
And something else to ponder for today (taken from the booklet within Taylor Swift's newest CD "Speak Now"):
"Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the only words you'll regret more than the ones left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone.
What you say might be too much for some people. Maybe it will come out all wrong and you'll stutter and you'll walk away embarrassed, wincing as you play it all back in your head. But I thinhk the words you stop yourself from saying are the ones that will haunt you the longest."

If you don't come away from my blog post today feeling uplifted and positive, then there's no hope for you! Today matters; YOU matter. XOXO

Quote of the Week
While riding in the car Monday, Connor said to me, totally out of the blue (and I quote), "Mom, I just don't want to be TOO awesome."
I chuckled a little, then replied, "How come?"
"Just because I don't." he said.
"How do you know when you're TOO awesome?"
He took that "tone" with me and said, "BECAUSE I just feel it in my head, and it makes me mad! I want to just be reg-lee-er awesome." (that's how he says regular).
I chuckled a little more, and couldn't just leave well enough alone, so asked, "What sort of things do you do that make you feel TOO awesome?"
"Just EVERYTHING, like playing soccer, and riding my bike, and using my tools, you know, all that awesome stuff."
(LOL!!!!)
"So, Connor, how do you stop being TOO awesome when it starts to happen?"
"I just tell myself to stop it, and I stop."
At least I know he won't be egotistical, because he's got it all worked out that he doesn't want to be TOO awesome!!

Quote of the Week
Jared to Connor: "If you're thinking that I'm going to let you play with my brand new toy, then you're thinking of a different Jared, because I already told you no!"
Connor to Jared: "Then you need to be a different Jared!"

Quote of the Week
Connor asked me yesterday what happens to people when they die. After having a bit of a discussion with him, it became clear that he just really wanted to know what happened to the physical body after a person dies. I told him most people are placed in a coffin and buried underground in a cemetary. After a long pause, he said, "Is that when the vampires bite them?"

Quote of the Week
It really has to be QUOTES of the week this week... Connor's been on a roll!!
"When you feel a big lump come out of your bottom, that's poop." (he acted like he was telling me some grand piece of wisdom, all serious-faced and whatnot. LOL!)
"Mom, do you remember that Princess Diarrhea movie?" (Sorry kid, that would be Princess DIARIES)
me: Connor, please take another bite of corn and we'll have a little treat for dessert.
Connor: But I HATE "vegematables" and WHY do you keep making me eat these?!?!
me: It's up to you if you want to eat that last bite or not, but if you want part of a cinnamon roll, you need to eat another bite of corn.
Connor: mmmm, I love this corn! (that's what I thought)
Connor: Mom, I can't find my shoes and I looked everywhere!
me: Connor, you goof, they're right there on the floor next to you.
(long pause) Connor: I think I just lied. (you're forgiven)
PS Happy Birthday to my sweet Monica, who is no longer a teenager as of today. Gosh, that makes me feel OLD!
