Crowded Tub

by Shel Silverstein

There's too many kids in this tub.
There's too many elbows to scrub.
I just washed a behind
That I'm sure wasn't mine.
There's too many kids in this tub.

(Don't mind the crazy bow, but I figured that now that Em's 6.5 years old, I probably have to start being cautious of how much I show!!)

Very cute picture! Was there fighting and washing going on
or just washing?
Your mom and I would argue in the tub and there was just us two!
She sat on the drain to keep me from going down. If she got up, I got out! : )

Love that poem! I used it with my freshmen this year when we did some Poetry Alive activities. They got a huge kick out of it! My all time favorite poetry book is Where the Sidewalk Ends. I like some "deep" poetry, too, but nothing beats good old Shel.

Em is defanately not too old to be showing that much. It's fine for her. At her age it's just very CUTE!!! I would not do that until she is 8 or 9. Oh and by the way take some more pictures of them in the tub those pictures are so cute.
