THE GREAT
Our riding lawn mower is FIXED! HURRAY!!!!!
Check it out: NO DANDELIONS! (you didn't REALLY think I liked them, did you!?!?)
And here's the remnants of the hardy spiney weed I photographed last time (no match for the riding lawn mower!)
Sadly, we still have a moss problem, but that's unrelated to the working status of our mower, so I can't really complain!
THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL
I got a CRUMMY picture of Emily getting off the bus on her first day of school, so I redeemed myself and got a better one of her on the second day!
And this was just too cute, her in her "Chester" hat (from the book The Kissing Hand, which you should read if you haven't before!) I think she looks older than 5 years old here, but maybe I'm just weird
THE PERPLEXING
Apparently Connor is allergic to the cheese in those cheese and cracker packs where you spread the cheese onto the cracker with the little red stick! Everywhere he had cheese on his face, he ended up with a big red blotchy mark...
THE ADORABLE
I chased a very uncooperative Jared around the house trying to get a decent picture of him to use in the collage I have to make for his preschool class (In case it hasn't been mentioned, I've taken over the position of Class Representative for Jared's class, and am in charge of creating the schedule of working parents, putting together the things like collages, making all the reminder phone calls for events, etc). At the point I think I verbally threatened to shove my camera up his nose if he didn't stand still and smile NICELY, he started laughing at me and TA-DA, decent picture for the collage (now if only the remaining 11 parents would bother sending me pics of THEIR kids, I could finish the darn collage!!)
THE SATISFACTION
Of a job FINALLY done:
We've had plans of repainting the maroon trim on the house and the maroon front door pretty much from the day we moved in. SEVEN YEARS LATER, we finally got around to painting it. The original plan was to do white trim around the roofline, with white gutters (which we did last summer when we replaced the roof), and then the front and side doors would be white as well. Fast forward to this weekend where we discovered that a white front door next to not-so-white-afterall white brick was AWFUL. We debated and argued all weekend and finally settled on a dark green for the front door (I was shot down in my suggestion of just painting the brick white so it would match! LOL). It still needs a second coat of paint, and we're replacing the doorknob, deadbolt lock, and adding a brass kick-plate, but you get the idea...
